Meet the Staff


Donald R. Acton, D.C., F.I.C.A. received his B.S. degree from Ball State University in 1973 and his D.C. degree in 1979 from Logan Chiropractic College. During his academic career, Dr. Acton received both academic and athletic scholarships. He was voted president of his senior class while in Chiropractic College and graduated in the top 10% of his class in both undergraduate and graduate school.

After graduation, Dr. Acton opened Acton Family Chiropractic Center in 1979. He has adjusted over 500,000 adults and children. He has served eight years on the Irene Wortham Center Board and on numerous committees for the NC Chiropractic Association. He received the honor of by being named a Fellow of the International Chiropractors Association in 1997 and has been the elected representative for NC since 1994. Dr. Acton has been a Performance Coach for over 120 Chiropractors worldwide along with having founded and operated three successful chiropractic clinics in WNC. He has testified as an expert witness in court more than fifty times on behalf of patients who have been injured in auto and work accidents. Because of his achievements, Waiting List Practice inducted him into the “All World Team”.

Dr. Acton is devoted to his wife Joanie and his five children; Luke (deceased), Matthew, Neile, Gunnar and McKenzie. They reside in Haw Creek and are active members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in East Asheville.

 

Dr. Christopher Keirnan, D.C.

Dr. Keirnan earned his B.S. degree from Florida State University, and then while running a successful bicycle shop was introduced to the BIG IDEA of Chiropractic.  Dr. Keirnan graduated from Life University in 2007 where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.  While in school he has become proficient at many Chiropractic techniques including Activator, Full Spine, Chiropractic Bio Physics, and Thompson.  Dr. Keirnan worked side by side with the Chiropractor for the Atlanta Falcons his first two years out of school.  Tired of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta Dr. Keirnan sought the relaxed community of Asheville.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time cycling, running, and hiking for fun and fitness.

     Renee Pool, C.A.

Renee moved from the Raleigh/Durham area to Asheville with her family in 2002. She studied Child Care Development at Wake Technical Community College and Medical Office Administration at AB Technical Community College. After working ten years at a fast paced Work life Company, as an account manager for various consulting systems, such as childcare and daily living, she decided to devote more time to her children. In 2010, Renee served as the Hominy Valley Elementary PTA President at her children's school and is currently the PTA Vice President.

 The Chiropractic world was introduced to Renee in 2011 and in her own words, "This amazing and life changing experience is a blessing and I love helping people from all different walks of life.”

 Renee is blessed with a beautiful family and takes pride in being a good and supportive wife, mother and most of all a child of God. In her “free time”, Renee enjoys cooking, arts and crafts, exercising and spending time with her church family at West Asheville Baptist Church.

Brianne Siri, C.A.

Bri moved to Asheville in 2009 from Northern California. She was raised in Placerville, a small town about an hour from South Lake Tahoe. After attending college in San Diego and Placerville, she moved to Asheville with her long time boyfriend to start a new life in the mountains together. Bri loves being outdoors and doing activities that require being in nature. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, swimming, art, music and spending time with family and friends. Bri lives to travel because there are so many amazing places to see in this beautiful world. She is a strong supporter of natural healing and organic living and that's what got her interested in Chiropractic care. Bri has been receiving chiropractic care since high school and feels extremely blessed to work with such a great team at Acton Family Chiropractic.
